A 24-hour spree of violence across Southwest Florida has culminated in a death sentence for a man whose casual demeanor in an interrogation room belied the brutality of his crimes. Wade Wilson, a 25-year-old whose social media presence once garnered attention, was found guilty of the first-degree murders of two women during a frenzied period in October 2019.
The chain of events began with a domestic disturbance in Fort Myers, where Wilson assaulted his girlfriend, Kristine “Mila” Montanez. When police attempted to detain him, he fled, triggering a multi-city manhunt. His flight led him to Cape Coral, where he broke into an unoccupied home to eat, change clothes, and evade capture.
It was from this hideout that Wilson placed a fateful call to his biological father. During that conversation, he chillingly confessed to killing two women.
